Prof. Nelida Fuccaro provided unique insights of the history of merchant families in the Gulf and their importance on shaping the nation states of today. The session concluded with a visit to the NYUAD Archives and Special Collections which allowed participants to directly encounter the documented entrepreneurial heritage that has shaped the region’s development.
